Union business leave contribution form.  Between Dec. 1 and Dec. 22 every year bargaining unit employees may contribute unused vacation hours to the union business leave bank.
Union business leave request form.  Union officers and officials doing AFSCME local 2380 business like attending steward training, officer training, or being an official delegate to a Council 67 or International meeting may use union business leave.  Please call the union president before you sign this form and have your supervisor sign it, too.  Then interoffice a copy of this form signed by you and your supervisor to the union president.  The original goes to your supervisor just like any other leave form like vacation, personal, or sick leave.  This is just another type of leave, but this type of leave is controlled by the union for union business especially union training and representing us to large union bodies like AFSCME Council 67 and AFSCME International.
Authorization Form to let the union AFSCME local 2380 and our staff representative from Council 67 have access to your personell file and your payroll records.  This is useful should we have to defend you in a grievance or in an advisory or binding arbitration hearing.  This form is an Adobe Acrobat PDF file, so you have to have Adobe Acrobat reader on your computer.  Most people already have Adobe Acrobat reader on their computers as this software is free.

The great union leader A. Philip Randolph, who organized the Pulman car porters union, said, "At the banquet table of nature there are no reserved seats.  You get what you can take, and you keep what you can hold.  If you can't take anything, you won't get anything; and if you can't hold anything, you won't keep anything.  And you can't take anything without organization." 

So we need to orgainize to get and hold anything.

Dr. Harold Williams:  local 2380 web master and now executive board member again; former vice president; former president; former vice president; former executive board member; formerly on the original contract negotiating committee and every other negotiating committee since then; official union observer in the representation election; and formerly on the organizing committee even if I did join late in the process (I know I good thing when I see it.).
Planetarium Coordinator and Astronomy, Geology, and Physics Lab Coordinator (staff position); and adjunct professor teaching AS101 every regular semester and also taught as an adjunct professor physics, geology, and various mathematics courses over the years at Montgomery college during the summer and other terms as emergencies arose.
