If you have read the FAQ here on this website you should have a good idea of why its important for Bargaining unit employees to join the Union. But to summarize the importance we can only say this: The Union works daily on your behalf, we represent you when there are times of need or disagreement, we negotiate for pay rates, work rules, benefits and conditions, and the COLA and Merit increases you receive. All the members and officers serving you are Volunteers. We work to help YOU. We ask nothing in return but your support.

We ensure that Management never oversteps its bounds in authority or discipline, and never takes advantage of your hard work without due compensation, to maintain that fair treatment and respect in the workplace is ensured. The Union cannot be effective without a membership to support those efforts. Membership means YOU.

By signing a card and paying your dues, you are gaining a VOICE in Union decisions which will effect your working conditions. Every decision and contract ratification that comes up for vote will need YOU to vote to approve or disapprove. Further, by increasing our membership we gain more influence and can create a louder voice which carries more weight in negotiations to changes being made.

We encourage everyone in the Bargaining Unit to actively join the MC Staff Union.


HOW TO JOIN: ** 2 Ways!**
Option #1:
1) Call your Shop Steward
2) Fill out the form they bring you & sign it.
3) Thats ALL!

Option #2:
1) Download the Membership Card on this website.
2) Print it out
3) Fill it out completely and SIGN IT
4) Send it via Interoffice Mail to the Union Contact at the top of the Card.
5) Thats All!
